Mean Girls

Given my obsession, I'm surprised it took me so long to come up with this idea. I love the movie Mean Girls, mostly because it's so ridiculous. I don't know anyone who went to a high school where people acted like this. If you did, please come forward. Mean Girls quite possibly has the greatest amount of one liners in the history of comedic movies. Tina Fey is a genius. All of the lines from this movie are so easily transferable to other scenarios. And they're also super relatable. For example:

"So then in eighth grade, I started going out with my first boyfriend, Kyle, who was totally gorgeous but then he moved to Indiana...." (this quote goes on into an amazing monologue but we'll save that for later)

Guess what is actually true? My first boyfriend was in eighth grade and his name was Kyle. I can't say he was totally gorgeous because I was thirteen and my taste in men was truly subpar. He also didn't move to Indiana. But besides those two minor qualifications, this quote was my life.

Moving on. There are countless memes where quotes have been taken from Mean Girls and used in another context. Let's talk for a moment about Harry Potter and Mean Girls (two of my favorite things in one)...

For this meme you have to have seen Mean Girls. For all these memes you have to have seen Mean Girls and you should see Mean Girls for countless reasons. You also need to have a knowledge of Harry Potter characters to understand this meme. My favorites are "kids who eat their feelings" - Ron, and "kids who don't eat anything" - Moaning Myrtle. The purpose of making this meme and sharing it? You told me I can't say to make people laugh...but it makes me laugh. I don't know if this could be considered a purpose for making these memes...But how amazing is it that all the lines in Mean Girls are so easily transferred to other scenarios? As I said before...Tiny Fey is a genius.

Tell me you're not dying. In the movie Mean Girls, one girl says this about another girl. In this meme they nailed it. Miley Cyrus cut off all of her hair and she looks like Malfoy...a British man. Amazing. You'd need the same knowledge as mentioned before. Remember the outrage that came about as a result to Miley cutting off all her hair? PEOPLE WERE LEGITIMATELY ANGRY. Angry because another human being cut their hair. What a superficial thing to be so outraged about. And this is what I think the entire movie is about. Tina Fey wrote this movie to be a comedy but if you look deep enough, you'll find a purpose to this hilarity.

There's a surprisingly small amount of fan art made for Mean Girls...This one seems pretty easy to make. They just took the photo and put words over it. I would say the purpose of making these documents is to get people to watch the movie. The fact that they write "funny" and "relatable" under the title means they want other people to know it's funny and relatable so they will watch it.
